FIVE FAVORITE SONGS

BLOG ASSIGNMENT # 2
Cruz Pozo Monar- 09- 16 2009.

Song # 1
Title: My Great Night.
Artist: Salvatore Adamo.
Year: 1967.
Genre: Romantic Ballad.
Memorable lyrics.- Tired of withstanding my dad I decided to emancipate, and did like this, one night I got out ready to relieve. To the dancing, I went with my best green Nile clothing. My night was, I danced more than one top and almost lost one kilo.

Memorable association.- A few months ago, my husband was listening at home this song. My son Danielito was listening also, and he repeated this son, but he was altering the original composition. He repeated, “Tired of withstanding my mom I decided to emancipate, when we listened our sons sang, we were laughing a short time. After that, I thought in the message from the song especially for teenagers. The artist when sang this son, he was very young. In the video clip, the singer gave the impression that he wanted to be free, so his body discovered one delicious but dangerous step, but he enjoyed it.

Blurb.- This is the perfect son for people that speak Spanish and are rebellious, or like to remember their steps when they were teenagers, in specially if the parents were very strictest, they always found the way for to enjoy with activities that the parents didn’t allowed.

Memorable Lyrics.- I, I don’t get defeat, I want one world with you.

Memory association.- I remember this song when my coworker Dalia used sang, when we listened to the radio in our job mine a while we were working. She has a good voice, but she told me that she never memorized all letter, in consequence she never finished singing this song, but we enjoyed listened her sing this song. For me this son is interesting because it give a message about I never get defeat, I never get tired, it is like inspiration for me when many times I feel completely tired and have wishes to give up. Then I start again.
Blurb.- If you listen the all composition, it is the perfect song for to raise the spirit of the people that have problems with their self-esteem and are thinking that no body loves them.

Genre: Romantic Ballad.

Memorable Lyrics.- Was already afternoon in the cold night of the great city, returned at home when soon I saw light in the tavern, I never get doubt, was cold, in it got in.

Memory association.- I like listening this song, this song is the story of all immigrants people like me, that we felt odd long time when we came to unknown city by fist time, where all is different in specially the language. When I listen the song I connect by mind with my country, but is little sad because every one miss their parents and relatives. Ironically, they left their countries and families for to get a better life for them, and maybe never are going to meet with them again, because the majorities do not have legal status.

Blurb.- With the letter of this song the majority of immigrants have identification, it is appropriate for those that miss and lost steps living with them by immigration.

Genre: Romantic Ballad.
Memorable Lyrics.- walker, are your footprint, the way and no more; walker, there is no way, it makes a way by walking.
By walking makes a way, and when you see back, you see the path that never it has returned to step on.

Memory association.- This song is a message that show us about our past, when I listen this song I remember my college steps in my Spanish Literacy class in Ecuador. This song has connection with the philosophic and human pansy; also, this song composition speaks about one peregrine poet who lived too far from his country. Ironically, the composition said that never are going to walk the same path again, but sometimes is no true.

Genre: Pop Ballad.

Memorable lyrics.- dreamed in an old sailor selling chimeras, dreamed that outlined of one travel bird.
Dreamed in legends of gold, of empire distant, felt that my race indomitably never subordinated.
Memorable association.- I remember listening to this song the participation of the Jesus Fichamba in festival OTI in Spain in 1985, where jus the people with music know ledges
He was the winner in this festival, but he got the second place. In this song, the writer describes about discovery of America by Spain, describes also the geography of new land, and describes how the native aborigines felt themselves. In this époque the people opinion in Ecuador were divided, however is relevant this second place in this festival for the Ecuador, Winner by native aborigine, who was dressed the aborigine clothes.

Would you rather be rich and have no free time or struggle with money but have loads of free time? I would like to have one profession that give for me and my family a comfortable live with vacation and whole benefits.

What do you get excited about? I get excited by many reasons: when I improve my English pronunciation, when my son gets grade notes, when the doctor told me that I am OK, when I spoke by phone with my family in Ecuador, when I can be useful for some people.
What's the last thing you laughed really hard over? I laughed last Sunday when my son was playing with my husband.
Could you live without your cell phone for one week? One month? Yes.
What woke you up this morning? I woke up by myself, and my husband call us from his job at seven o’clock every morning, Monday to Friday.
Do you use myspace or facebook? No, I don’t have time right now.
If you could take one friend on vacation with you, who would it be? I would like to take my friend Laurita, she lives in Ecuador, she was my coworker in my job in Ecuador, and she is the nicest person with me in my life.
