ROB’S LIFE
Nick Hormby the writer who wrote “High Fidelity” book, where Rob is a main character. The book describes Rob from his boyhood until his adulthood, who was born in Hertfordshire. It is a suburban are of London. He left his parents house when he was eighteen year old, and began his single and independent life. Throughout his life, Rob established weak relationships, difficult personality, and he made bad decisions in his life.
Rob established weak or poor relationships because he has not perspectives in his life. First of all, His first relationships were his parents, whose left when he was eighteen years old, he was not closed to them, so he communicated with them only by phone, and the majority of the time with his Mom. He was ingrate son, he did not visit them, and he did not take care of them. He went there looking for console, there he realized that his parents moved from the last home that he know long time ago. Some opportunity, he told that he hated hid childhood. Secondly, no only with his parents had bad relationship, but also, with his girlfriends he had bad relationships, like evidence, he never got married and had children. Only with Laura, he spent more time, but he did not give her the right care, also he was infidel her with Maria La Salle. Finally, Rob’s circle of friends was short, he did not have important friends, and in fact, the people with whom he established friendship is only from the music, and his employers, as a result, he did not improve his life and continued with the same job from his boyhood until his adulthood. In conclusion, Rob’s relationship was poor. He did not improve his life because he did not have a model to follow and somebody who influences him.
Rob has difficult personality because of his unorganized life. First of all, Rob is a selfish person, he thought only in his personal satisfaction. When he had his second girlfriend, he wanted has sex, she refused, for this reason, he left her. Other occasion, when he knew Marie, he made the goal to sleep with her. In one relationship, he did not involucres his feelings, ands he was an empty person. Secondly.- Rob has complex, sometimes they are of superiority, and sometimes of inferiority. Superiority, when he went to his parents’ home, there he realized that his parents have a friend, who is the most pathetic man in the world because he analyzed the clothes that he was wearing. Inferiority, when he compared his life style with his ex girlfriend’s life style. He realized that the life style of them were better than his life. He used to envies it. Finally, Rob is a conform person, he continued living and working in the same place long time without plan in his life, and never made a goals, neither good decisions One opportunity, when he can get advantage from the woman, who was selling her husband record collection a low price, he refused to buy it. In conclusion, Rob is a person that lives without directions, never made a goals that help him to improve his life, and this made him a conform person without ambitions. He preferred the easy way with the law the less effort.
Rob made bad decision during his life because he did not have a wise person near him, who gave him advices. First of all, he moved from his parent home to live in an urban are of London because he hated living in a hometown. He did not have any support from his parents, whose life was independent with excess of freedom. Secondly, Rob first bay decision was quick school, he wanted to work in a record store, he took the easy way, he thought only in the moment, he did not made projections for his future. He continued living the life by the easy way. Finally, the other bad decision was slept with Marie and did not take care of Laura, he did not think what he was doing, and in the morning, he was confused and felt guilty. That shows us Rob had doubts, he did not think clearly, his decision did not be smart, he also sometimes rather that another people made a decision for him.
In conclusion, rob’s relationships, with difficult personality and bad decision, show us Rob as a weak person, immature. This book teach me a lessons that we have to make goals in our life, we have to get advantage with our life, and don’t fall in the same mistake that the others.
